Apex Technical School Display Campaign
Using motion with purpose to improve communication in constrained digital advertising.

OVERVIEW
Using motion to solve communication problems—not create visual effects.
Apex Technical School needed display advertisements that promoted technical education programs while accommodating required marketing copy and legal disclosures. Rather than relying on animation for visual interest, motion was used selectively to improve readability where space was most limited.
HIGHLIGHTS

MY ROLE
Designing advertising that balanced communication, compliance, and consistency.
I designed a series of Google display advertisements across multiple sizes, creating lightweight GIF animations where necessary to improve clarity while maintaining consistent branding and supporting required legal disclosures.
THE CHALLENGE
Fit more information into less space without sacrificing clarity.
The smallest display formats had to communicate marketing messages, calls to action, and mandatory NYSED licensing language within extremely limited space. The challenge wasn't simply fitting everything—it was preserving hierarchy and readability across every ad size.

DESIGN APPROACH
Use animation only when it improved the user experience.
Larger ad formats displayed all information at once, while the smallest placements introduced content sequentially through lightweight animation. This approach maintained compliance and readability without relying on unnecessary motion where static layouts were more effective.

OUTCOMES
A campaign that treated motion as a communication tool rather than a visual effect.
The final campaign balanced marketing goals with legal requirements while maintaining a consistent visual system across static and animated executions. By reserving animation for moments where it added clarity, the experience remained both effective and purposeful.
